Community Guidelines

Version 1.0 · Effective May 27, 2026

How to be a good neighbour in Nestbitt's social spaces — comments, profiles, collaboration, and sharing — and what happens when the rules are broken.

Nestbitt is a place to make music and share it with people who care about it. These Community Guidelines explain how we expect everyone to behave in our social spaces — comments, profiles, collaboration tools, messaging, and anywhere you interact with other people on Nestbitt.

These guidelines sit alongside the rules that apply to the content itself. For what you may create and upload, see the Content Policy; for the full list of prohibited conduct, see the Acceptable Use Policy. Nothing here overrides those policies — if there is ever a conflict, the Acceptable Use Policy and Terms of Service control.

The Spirit of the Community

Great communities are built on curiosity, generosity, and respect. Most of what we ask comes down to a simple idea: treat other creators the way you would want to be treated. Give honest feedback kindly, credit the people you work with, and assume good intent.

The guidelines below are not meant to police creativity — they exist so that everyone, including newcomers, feels safe enough to share their work. When in doubt, choose the option that makes the community more welcoming.

Be Respectful

Disagreement is fine; cruelty is not. You can critique a track without attacking the person who made it.

  • No harassment — do not target, pile on, or repeatedly contact someone who does not want to hear from you.
  • No hate — do not attack or demean people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or other protected characteristics.
  • No threats or intimidation — do not threaten violence or harm against anyone, and do not encourage others to do so.
  • Keep feedback constructive — criticize the work, not the worth of the person behind it.

Keep It Authentic

Trust is the currency of a creative community. Be who you say you are, and let your work speak honestly.

  • No impersonation — do not pretend to be another person, artist, or organization, or imply an endorsement that does not exist.
  • No spam — do not flood the community with repetitive posts, unsolicited promotion, or off-topic links.
  • No manipulation — do not use bots, scripts, or coordinated accounts to distort conversations or rankings.
  • No fake engagement — do not buy, sell, or exchange followers, plays, likes, votes, or comments, and do not artificially inflate any metric.

Only share what you have the right to share. Do not post music, samples, lyrics, artwork, or recordings that belong to someone else without permission, and do not use another person's voice or likeness without their consent.

If you believe your work has been used without authorization, you can ask us to act through the notice-and-takedown process in our Copyright Policy. Respecting copyright and consent is not optional, even in casual social posts.

Keep Content Safe

The same content standards that apply across Nestbitt apply in the community. Do not post illegal, sexual-exploitation, non-consensual, hateful, violent, or deceptive content. The full standards — including our zero-tolerance rules for minor safety and non-consensual material — are in the Content Policy.

Protect Privacy

Respect other people's privacy as you would your own. Do not post or threaten to post someone's private information — such as their home address, phone number, private messages, or other identifying details — without their permission. Doxxing and the targeted exposure of private information are strictly prohibited and treated as serious violations.

How We Enforce These Guidelines

When something goes wrong, we generally respond in proportion to the severity and history of the conduct. The ladder below shows the typical progression, but we may move directly to a higher step for serious or repeated violations.

Typical enforcement progression
StepActionWhen it applies
1WarningA first or minor violation; we explain what went wrong and how to fix it.
2Content removalThe offending comment, post, or profile element is removed or restricted.
3Temporary suspensionRepeated violations or a more serious incident; access is paused for a set period.
4Permanent banSevere violations or continued violations after prior action; the account is terminated.

Serious harms — such as child-safety violations, non-consensual content, credible threats, or coordinated abuse — can result in immediate permanent removal without earlier steps. Our broader enforcement approach and safeguards are described in the Trust & Safety Policy.

How to Report a Problem

If you see something that breaks these guidelines, please tell us. Use the in-product reporting tools where available, or email us at support@nestbitt.com. For urgent safety concerns, flag them clearly so we can prioritize the report under our Trust & Safety Policy.

Appeals

If you think we acted on your account or content in error, you can appeal. The process for submitting and reviewing appeals is set out in the Trust & Safety Policy. You can also reach us at support@nestbitt.com.
